Cancellation of Shizuoka Marathon 2020

Preparation for countermeasures against the spread of the new corona virus have been undertaken for the Shizuoka Marathon 2020 scheduled for March 8th. However, a case of transmission was discovered domestically where the route of infection is unknown, raising concerns for the spread of the disease. The tournament has been cancelled, taking into consideration the health and safety of runners, volunteers and roadside supporters.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in the cancellation of the event along with the following measures to be taken regarding the runners scheduled to participate.

1. Details
Based on regulations, the entry fee for participation in the Shizuoka Marathon 2020 will not be refunded.  Participants who have made entry registrations will be sent a participation prize. Notifications will be made on the official website as soon as prizes are ready to be posted out.

2. Other schedules
Entry details, etc. for Shizuoka Marathon 2021 will be announced on the official website as soon as it is determined.

The Shizuoka Marathon 2020 scheduled for March 8th has been cancelled. Although organizers have been undergoing preparations for countermeasures against the new corona virus, the decision was made taking into account the health and safety of runners, volunteers and visitors.
